Breastfeeding Questions - Scuba Diving and Breastfeeding

I would like to go scuba diving and am still breastfeeding my 6 week old daughter. I was wondering what the impact would be with regards to the pressure on my breasts when I went scuba diving. Could my breasts leak whilst scuba diving?

Congratulations on your new baby!

As regards scuba diving and breastfeeding have a look at DiversAlertNetwork.org which addresses your very question.

I put the search term 'breastfeeding scuba diving' into the google search box and there are a number of sites that look at the effects of scuba diving and breastfeeding so you may want to look here for more information.

With regards to leaking, it is very possible that you will leak a little, but you may find feeding the baby before a dive helps to prevent this!

I hope this helps.

Best Wishes,

Sinead
